What is a jungle buggy, and how is it different from an ATV?
A buggy is a two-seater UTV. You sit side by side in a roll cage with a steering wheel and pedals, and you drive it yourself. An ATV is a single quad bike with handlebars that you straddle and ride alone.
The buggy suits people who want to share the experience with someone rather than ride solo, or who would rather be strapped into a seat than balanced on a quad. The trails are the same mud and jungle either way.
How long is the buggy ride?
The ride itself runs around 90 minutes. With hotel pickup, the briefing and cleaning up afterwards, set aside a good half day for the buggy on its own.
Three of our four buggy packages pair it with something else, which makes them full day trips.
Do I need experience to drive one?
No. If you have driven anything with a steering wheel and pedals you will pick it up in a couple of minutes. A guide briefs the group before you set off and leads the route the whole way, so you are never working out the trail on your own.
Anything specific to your group, such as age, health or mobility, is worth checking with us before you book. Tell us who is coming and we will give you a straight answer.
Can two of us ride in the same buggy?
Yes, that is the point of it. The buggy seats two, so couples, friends and parents with an older child can go out together in one vehicle.
Only one person drives at a time. Sort out between you who takes the wheel first, and ask your guide about swapping partway through.
What is included?
Safety gear, a local guide, and free hotel pickup come with every booking. The combo packages include whatever the second activity needs as well, such as rafting equipment or paintball gear.
If something matters to you and you cannot see it listed, ask us before you book rather than after.
Which of the buggy packages should I pick?
Four options, and they split cleanly. The standalone jungle trail ride is the one to take if the buggy is all you want or you have a half day. The buggy and ATV combo puts you in both vehicles in a day, which is the pick if you cannot decide between them.
The buggy and Ayung rafting combo balances mud with river, and works well when you want a full day that is not all off-road. The buggy and paintball day is the one for groups who want something competitive after the ride.
What should I wear and bring?
You will get muddy, and in an open buggy it sprays. Wear something you do not care about and shoes you can hose down, then bring a full change of clothes and a towel.
Leave valuables at your hotel. If you want photos on the trail, use a strap or a waterproof case.
