Bali ATV Quad Bike Tours in Ubud

It is the ride most people come to Ubud for. You take a quad bike through jungle trails and ride straight through a carved cave tunnel with a gorilla face at the entrance, which is where the name comes from. The track runs through thick forest, natural tunnels and open ground, with rice terraces and waterfalls along parts of the route depending on the package.

Our tracks sit in the Ubud area, including a 25 hectare jungle site at Alas Harum. It is dirt, water and mud rather than a smooth circuit, which is the point.

The Gorilla Cave ride itself usually runs around an hour and a half. Add hotel pickup, the briefing, and a clean-up afterwards, and the ATV portion takes up a decent chunk of a morning or an afternoon.

Longer options exist. Our Black Lava and jungle trek near Mount Batur is a four to five hour ride. Most of the packages on this page pair the ATV with something else and run as a full day.

No. The controls are simple, a guide briefs the whole group before you set off, and the guide rides with you for the full route. Most of our guests have never been on a quad bike before.

Anything specific to your group, such as age, health, mobility, or how many people can share a quad, is worth checking with us before you book. Message us with who is coming and we will tell you honestly whether it works.

Helmets and safety equipment, a local guide, and free hotel pickup come with every booking. Many packages also include a meal, and the package name and description say so where that applies.

Most do, and that is usually the better value. The ATV pairs well with rafting on the Ayung, river tubing on the Pakerisan, zipline and jungle swing over the rice terraces, waterfalls, Monkey Forest, the holy water temples, and a Cretya sunset to finish.

The ATV is a single quad bike you ride yourself, and it is the more hands-on of the two. The buggy is a side-by-side vehicle, so you sit next to someone rather than riding solo, which suits people who would rather share the drive or are travelling with someone nervous about riding alone.

If you cannot decide, we run a combo that puts you on both in the same day.

You will get muddy. Wear something you do not care about and shoes you can hose down, then bring a full change of clothes and a towel. Sunscreen is worth having.

Leave valuables at your hotel. If you want photos on the trail, use a strap or a waterproof case, because phones and mud do not mix.
